The museum, named after General Patton, invites visitors to discover life in Ettelbruck during the dark years of the occupation in World War II. Its goal is to prevent history from being forgotten. The museum provides insight into the period of the Occupation through films, photos, objects, and documents. It reveals Nazi propaganda, daily life under the Occupation, collaboration, deportations, and the repression of the Jews.

The museum also displays period objects and personal artifacts that belonged to witnesses of this time. Some were drafted by force, while others were interned in concentration camps.

Additionally, there is an exhibition of models illustrating the occupation and liberation of the city of Ettelbruck.
