Simon Néckel used to make crosses out of roots and go around selling them door-to-door. Through this exhibition and talk, Nico Hamen aims to keep the work of the so-called ‘Kräizer Simchen’ alive in people’s memories. It serves as proof that people used to be poor and sought ways to survive on very little.
