The Lëtzebuerg City Museum is housed in a complex of historic houses. The permanent exhibition The Luxembourg Story tells the history of the city through a collection of original objects and topographical models, complemented by multimedia presentations and a mobile application. Temporary exhibitions take place regularly on the two upper levels.

Step back in time and discover the medieval past of Luxembourg City! The tour begins at the Lëtzebuerg City Museum and continues through the old town, where many traces of the Middle Ages remain.

Accompanied by the legendary Count Siegfried, who built his castle on the Bockfiels, you will delve into the history and legends of Lucilinburhuc. Siegfried will be there in person to present historical documents, models, and objects from the museum’s collection to illustrate this time in history.

Thanks to models, charts and other artefacts, let’s travel back in time to the 10th century and discover how the medieval city gradually grew out of the castle known as Lucilinburhuc.  The visit continues with a discovery of the archaeological crypt in Rue de la Reine.

This workshop is all about wood! Together, we will discover how to turn a simple wooden disc into a colourful piece of art. With some string, a bit of tape or a sponge, and of course lots of paint, you can get creative and design your own wooden discs.
